About Airfoil Data

MacFoil does NOT include any airfoil data (aside from the Clark-Y file included as a sample). Airfoil data must be imported from a plain text file. More airfoil data than you'll ever know what to do with can be found at:

http://www.uiuc.edu/ph/www/m-selig/ads/coord_database.html

The airfoil data needs to be in the "Selig" format: the first line is an optional title, then there's a pair of points on each following line, first x then y. The first point should be 1.00, 0.00, which is the trailing edge. Subsequent points move along the top surface of the airfoil, working toward the leading edge (usually 0.00, 0.00), and then the points move back along the bottom surface, ending at the same point they started (the trailing edge). Most of the airfoil data on the site above is in this format, but there are exceptions.
